1.      How much is the monthly Docksides Assessment/Fees, and where do I send the Payment?

As of February 2009 the monthly Dockside unit assessment is $280.00 per unit due no later than the 1st of the month.  Payments made after the 1st of the month will be assessed late fees.  Payments may be made via automatic payment, mailed to CBM directly, or by utilizing the payment coupons and envelopes.  

Below are the annual assessment fees for the boat slips and storage sheds.  These fees are due by April 1st.   If you have any questions call CBM or a member of the Board of Directors.

Boat Slip Assessments:  Annually (due April 1st)

20' = $144.00     25' = $180.00     30' = $216.00     35' = $252.00     40' = $288.00

Storage Shed Assessments:  Annually (due April 1st)

8X12 = $39.60     12X12 = $60.00     12X24 = $90.00

 2.      When and where are the Homeowners Monthly Meeting held? 

The Monthly Meeting is held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00P.M., and is held in various classrooms within Waterman’s Hall at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), in Gloucester Point. All Owners are welcome to attend.

3.      When is the Dockside Homeowners annual meeting held?

The annual meetings are usually held on the third Friday of each January, depending on the availability of pertinent information required to develop the annual report. In any event, a meeting notice is sent out no less than 30 days prior to the meeting. 

4.      I own a boat slip and/or storage unit, but don’t use either; can I rent/loan them to non Dockside Owners?

No, the Dockside By-Laws prohibit the loaning or renting of Dockside boat slips or storage units to non-Dockside residents.  You can however, rent/loan these assets to Dockside residents.

5.  What is the least amount of time that I may lease/rent my Condominium?

The least amount of time that you can rent your Condominium is six (6) months, any time less than that is in violation of the By-Laws.  Copies of the lease/rental agreement must be forwarded to the management company.  In addition, an executed original copy of the Dockside Covenant Abide  and $500.00 deposit made payable to DCOA should be forwarded to the management company.  Documents can be send to the management company at Chesapeake Bay Management, Inc., 600 Thimble Shoals Blvd. Suite 200, Newport News, VA 23606

6.      If I lease/rent my Condominium, can I still use my boat slip and use the pool and tennis courts?

Use of the pool and tennis court along with other common elements is not permitted by the unit owner or their family members while their property is under lease/rent.  Use of the common elements convey with the property in the lease/rental agreement and are for the exclusive use by the lessee. Owner’s who are leasing/renting their unit may have easement access to their unit for inspection purposes and may also retain usage of the limited common elements associated with their unit i.e. boat slip and storage shed. 

7.  There seems to be some confusion as to who is liable for the cost of damage with an insurable incident occurs within my unit. Who do I submit the claim to, Dockside or my insurance carrier?

To speed up the process, it is recommended that you notify both parties, but submit the claim to your carrier. They will notify Dockside’s Insurance Agent and the two companies will work through the liability issues and determine which company will pay for the damage correction. We are insured through ALLSTATE.  Our local agent is Ken Evans.  He can be reached at 804-642-2266.

Wednesday

9.  When is recycling picked up?

Thursday

10.  What can be recycled?

First of all, the first two trashcans are to be used for pool trash, not household trash, everyone should have a receptacle at their unit for household trash.  Acceptable material for recycling: paper (newspaper, cardboard), aluminum, and plastic. Unacceptable material for recycling: motor oil, cooking oil, refrigerators, furniture, building materials, carpet, and paint.  Please take these items to the dump located on Guinea Rd.
